Dr. Tanus is board-certified with the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI) and the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Medicine, and had a fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Tanus’ interest in researching innovative treatments for Allergy began in 1992 and continues today as an Investigator in phase III and IV clinical trials. He used his passion for research to found Kern Allergy and Medical Research, Inc. in Bakersfield in 2008. His articles and research appear in several medical journals. Dr. Tanus received his M.D. from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a B.S. (cum laude) from University of Washington, Seattle.
He is a member of the Kern County Medical Society and is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) and the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI).
Dr. Tanus enjoys traveling, spending time with his four children, and playing sports like golf and tennis along with watching football.
